AI Faculty Workshop Series, Session 1: How is AI Transforming Scholarly Publishing?
Series Info: Join your library faculty colleagues for a four-part workshop series on teaching, learning, and scholarship with Artificial Intelligence. This series is open to all Faculty and Graduate Teaching Assistants. Each workshop will stand on its own, so you may attend any or all of the sessions. Lunch will be provided.
Session 1: How is AI Transforming Scholarly Publishing?
AI is rapidly becoming a collaborator – some even say a co-author – in scholarly communications. From literature review summarization and data analysis to manuscript drafting and language enhancement, AI-assisted scholarship introduces a new way of doing research – and a host of policy shifts and ethical considerations around transparency, authorship definitions, and integrity concerns. As scholarly communication evolves, it’s more important than ever to keep up with the changing landscape. This workshop will give an overview of AI’s new role in scholarly publishing, introduce some key AI tools for scholarship, and encourage discussion among participants about their own use of and questions about AI-assisted scholarly practices.
