Fearing the Black Body with Dr. Sabrina Strings

Join us on Monday February 26, 2024 to hear professor and North Hall Chair of Black Studies at UC Santa Barbara, Dr. Sabrina Strings, speak about her award-winning book, Fearing the Black Body: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

This event is free and open to the public.

Refreshments will be served.

Registration has closed.

Parking: Park in the West Parking Structure (Marian Way and Linda Vista Road) and take the tram up the hill to Copley Library. Payment is required Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. When paying for parking, you will need to enter your license plate number at a pay station. Please allow sufficient time for the tram. You may experience wait times from 9-15 minutes.
