Evaluating Information in a Post-Truth Environment: Disinformation, Misinformation, and Media Literacy
In this workshop we will explore why it has become increasingly difficult to differentiate between reliable and unreliable sources of information in a post-truth society. In addition to looking at the confluence of trends contributing to this situation, we will also discuss different forms of unreliable information and the real world consequences associated with uncritical acceptance of these types of sources. The aim of this workshop is to help attendees become familiar with and apply information and media literacy skills when evaluating all forms of information.
This workshop has been approved for Compass, Connect, and Passport career readiness points.
