Introduction to Chicago Manual of Style and Turabian

All are welcome to attend this session for an introduction to the basics of the Chicago Manual of Style and Kate Turabian’s Manual for Writers. We’ll cover paper formatting and citations, in-text and end-of-paper references, in both author-date and notes-bibliography styles, and discuss some of the differences between Chicago and Turabian. We’ll discuss frequently cited types of sources and sources specific to various disciplines. The first 30 minutes will be devoted to introduction; remaining time to hands-on activities, sample problems, and specific questions. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions to share and solve together.
