Confronting Misinformation in the Age of AI
In this workshop we will explore why it has become increasingly difficult to differentiate between reliable and unreliable sources of information, especially with the growing prevalence of generative AI in the information ecosystem. In addition to looking at the confluence of trends contributing to this situation, we will also discuss different forms of unreliable information and the real world consequences associated with the normalization of misinformation. The aim of this workshop is to help attendees become familiar with and apply information and media literacy skills when evaluating all forms of information.
This workshops has been approved for 1 Compass, Connect, or Passport career readiness point.
