Bam! Visual Culture Expressed through Comics and Graphic Novels - CANCELLED

This workshop has been cancellend

In this workshop, students will learn about Copley Library’s comics and graphic novel collection in addition to other sequential art forms (e.g. Manga). Topics covered include tips on searching the library catalog for comics, information on how to “read” sequential art, and historical and critical inquiry into how visual culture is being expressed through the medium. The instructor will highlight titles from the collection to discuss themes around social justice, such as Kindred (graphic novel adaptation of Octavia Butler’s science fiction masterpiece), Paper Girls (the recently adapted Amazon Prime series), and many more.
